The city of Nha Trang is known as a coastal resort in southern Vietnam. It is a popular, relaxing destination especially among families with children, but not only.

The main beach is within walking distance of many hotels, separated only by Tran Phu Street full of restaurants and cafes. And a promenade in the middle of a park where, in addition to walking, many people practice sports.

In addition to the beach, Nha Trang also offers numerous cafes, magnificent temples and an island with an amusement park.

The town of Nha Trang was our last stop on our journey through southern Vietnam. We stopped there only for a few days, and unfortunately the weather did not allow for water sports.

Nevertheless, Nha Trang is a nice place for relaxation, effortless sightseeing, as well as going crazy in the sea.

#1 Panagar Towers

The Panagar Towers are a remnant of the Cham civilization and were built between the seventh and twelfth centuries. The towers are still actively used for religious worship by Cham, and Chinese and Vietnamese Buddhists.

Originally the complex had as many as seven towers, but now only four remain. The 28-meter North Tower is the most impressive.

To get to the towers you have to climb a few stairs up, but it is not hard to overcome. In front of the stairs there is a small garden, with pillars, which is an ideal place to take pictures of the most magnificent of the towers.

It is possible to enter the towers, but remember to take off your shoes before entering. Entrance to the temple complex costs $1.30. Remember to cover your shoulders and knees.

#2 Long Son Pagoda

Known as the oldest temple in Nha Trang, Long Son pagoda is located at the foot of Trai Thuy Mountain. Initially the temple was built on a hill, but after a large cyclone during which the temple was destroyed, it was moved to its present location.

In front of the temple there is a nice, small garden, full of low trees in beautifully decorated pots. The entrance to the temple is guarded by dragons, and inside there is a golden statue of the seated Buddha.

However, this is not the only Buddha statue located at this temple. To the right, a stairs leads upstairs to a large statue of a reclining Buddha made of marble.

If you climb even higher you will reach the top of the mountain and your eyes will see an incredibly large white statue of Buddha sitting on a huge lotus.

Entry is free, and it’s best to visit this place in the morning, when there aren’t too many tourists around yet.

#3 VinWonders

Located on Hon Tre island, just across Nha Trang Bay amusement park VinWonders, is an unforgettable place for those who love this type of entertainment.

In addition to the amusement park, VinWonders offers the mall, beach, area to play games, and water park.

You can get to Hon Tre island by speedboat, and the whole trip takes only 15 minutes.

#4 Nha Trang Beach

On a beautiful sunny day, there is nothing more enjoyable than relaxing on the beach. The main beach in Nha Trang is long and quite wide, so it is an ideal place to relax.

On the beach from time to time you will come across restaurants and bars, where you will rest after the craziness in the water, on comfortable poufs, enjoying some beverage.

In addition to the main beach in Nha Trang, you will also find smaller, less popular or underdeveloped beaches, such as:

• Doc Let Beach
• Bai Dai Beach

#5 Water Sports

Nha Trang is famous for water sports, when the weather is good you can choose between diving, snorkeling, or surfing.

However, if water sports are not your favorite, opt for island hopping, as Nha Trang has some amazing islands to offer around.

#6 Nha Trang Cafes

In Nha Trang you will find not only an amazing restaurant base that will satisfy any foodie, but also beautiful, elegant coffee shops for coffee drinkers.

One of the nicest cafes in Nha Trang is Mango Caffee which, in addition to delicious coffee and desserts, will also satisfy any lover of beautiful interiors.

The place is tastefully decorated and the prices for both coffee and desserts are reasonable.

Depending on whether you are traveling from another city in Vietnam or from outside the country, you have several options to choose from.

The best time to visit Nha Trang is between March and August, when you can be almost certain of beautiful, sunny weather. The water in the sea is then calm and ideal for swimming or water sports.
