#8 Playa Piskado

If you want to see turtles in their natural habitat, you should definitely put Playa Piskado on your list! It is here where you will see these amazing creatures. This is because local fishermen have been feeding the turtles with the leftovers of gutted fish for many years.

Turtles here are not dangerous. You can admire them even from very close, but we have to admit that because it was our first time seeing them from so close, we were sometimes a little bit scared. Especially when a bigger turtle was coming straight in our direction. So always try to keep a good distance from these fascinating creatures.

In addition to the turtles, you can observe numerous pelicans, which are just as hungry for fish scraps as the turtles, and an incredible number of fish.

On site it is possible to rent beach chairs for $5 and umbrellas for $3. The beach itself is not very spectacular, but the possibility of swimming with turtles makes it loved by tourists.

There is a small store with drinks and snacks and a toilet. Fishermen are happy to sell their catch here. This beach is ideal for snorkelling, but if you do not have your own equipment, it is also possible to rent it on site $7.50 (15 ANG). There is a small, limited parking lot at the beach, so we recommend to be here early.

Getting around Curaçao

Curacao is small, so getting around town is easy on foot or by bus. The best place to find out when and where the buses go is the ABC Curacao App. Download it to your phone, if you plan to travel with a bus in Curacao.

If you want a quick ride somewhere, Curacao offers something like Uber. The app is called Click and it is completely safe and reliable.

Outside the city the best means of transportation is a car. The price of renting a car varies depending on the rental company.

We used a small local company, because there we’ve got the best deal compared to the big companies at the airport. You can contact them via WhatsApp . There is another car rental company in Curacao , also recommended by our local host. Both companies have comparable prices.
