How to Visit Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, Emirates

Since it had always been a dream to see the world-famous Sheikh Zayid Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, it finally came true. By the way, similar to the Hassan II Mosque in Morocco, this is one of the few mosques in the entire Emirates that non-Muslims are also allowed to visit.

How to Visit Abu Dhabi from Dubai

Driving a taxi is always one of those things. Often way too overpriced. In some countries like Thailand, no driver wants to turn on the taximeter, so you always have to negotiate. Or you just switch to alternatives like Uber.

However, this alternative is more of a luxury in the Emirates and a lot more expensive than the good old taxi.

So you order one from the hotel and go on a taxi ride of about one to one and a half hours. The nice thing about it is that the long ride for both ways will cost you about 240 Dirham, which is the equivalent of about $65. As long as you can share this cost with a few travel friends, it’s really no big deal.

Tip: In case you want to drive by yourself, keep in mind that you need an international driver’s license for Emirates. Make sure to apply for it well in advance. Police checks on tourists are frequent and strict.
