Traveling is one of those things. When you see the first temple, you are enchanted. The second and third may fascinate you just the same. But at some point you have seen enough temples. It’s the same with big cities. In Tokyo we looked at as many corners as possible, in Osaka we only wanted to concentrate on the essentials. Here are the things we would regret not having seen.
#1 Dōtonbori district
The Dōtonbori district is one of the most famous places in Osaka and a tourist magnet. Rightly so, because the district fascinates visitors with its own presence. Many bars and restaurants have settled here and attract masses of visitors.
#2 Ebisu Bridge
If you are already in Dōtonbori, of course a walk over the Ebisu Bridge with the view of the Dōtonbori Canal can’t be missed.
#3 Kaiyūkan Aquarium
The Kaiyūkan Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world and simply breathtaking! 2’300 ¥ or just under $19 you get to enjoy almost 30’000 animals to look at and partly touch. You should plan enough time, because the aquarium is really big. Around 3-4 hours should be planned, so that you do not come unnecessarily in stress.
